Project Location:

Rutland, Vermont

Crown Energy Solutions constructed a new bulk propane storage facility at Irving Energy’s location in Rutland, VT. Two sets of concrete piers were constructed to support the tanks and concrete pads were poured to support a new compressor and pump. CES provided one new 30,000 gallon propane tank and implemented a truck and crane service to transport the tank to the site and unload the tanks onto the piers. Each tank was equipped with an indicating dial thermometer, 0-300 psi gauge, magnitel, and liquid and vapor shut-off valves. The tanks were also furnished with nitrogen-activated internal valves, relief valves, and weather caps. One Corken Z4500 pump with 20 HP motor and by-pass line back to the tanks were also provided and installed. One transport unload/transport load was fabricated in accordance with the NFPA Pamphlet 58 specifications for vapor and return lines.

Crown Energy Solutions provided and installed one single pedestal-style rail car access platform with a 48” gangway ramp. The gangway ramp was furnished with a telescoping extension for gap protection with a +15/-15 degrees for horizontal working range. It was also equipped with self-leveling handrails, midrails, and toeboards. The gangway was self-supporting with adjustable chain stops and had a 500 lbs. capacity when supported.

CES provided and installed one Corken 690 Compressor with 20 HP motor on the concrete pad. CES also installed a methanol injection system that provided methanol injection to the transport unload lines. Crown energy Solutions installed one 250 gallon tank, provided by Irving Energy for methanol storage.

CES also provided and installed an emergency shut-down system with nitrogen-activated pneumatic releases and three shut-offs. All the necessary piping for both liquid and vapor lines were ran.

The entire installation was sandblasted, power washed, painted, and color-coded.
